Kera Willis - Founder/ Teacher

Kera Willis is visionary and transformational leader who helps people experience intimate encounters with horses and the natural world that transform their understanding of what it means to be human.

 

A life-long horsewoman, Kera is a certified practitioner of Equine Experiential Learning, Horse Boy Method (a form of therapeutic riding specific to autism and neurodiversity), and Daoist Stone Medicine. Over her ten years as founder and teacher at Mountain Horse School, she’s introduced thousands of young people to the joys of connecting with horses and nature, presented at the Festival of the Horse and Drum (Chicago, IL, 2014), The Healing With Horse Online Summit (2015, 2021), and Hollyhock Retreat Centre (Cortes Island, BC, 2018, 2019.) She’s worked as program director and consultant at Horse Boy Foundation (Elgin, TX), and Healing With Horses Therapeutic Center (Hillier, ON), and mentored teams of staff and other equine professionals in her integrated, holistic way of bringing young people together with horses. 

 

Kera lives in the West Kootenays in BC, Canada, where she helps run a regenerative farm, plays music, writes, wildcrafts, and facilitates encounters with her small herd.
